LOVOO is a chat and dating app. The app uses location information as a way for users to find potential singles in their area - users can check the app "radar" to instantly discover online singles near their location and arrange a date. Users create a profile complete with uploaded images, and can match with other users by looking through their profiles. Premium services are available, in which users are provided with "icebreakers" in order to increase chances of a response and can choose to do anonymous profile browsing.
Why is it a risk?
As a dating website, this app has unsuprisingly been given a high age restriction by both Apple and Google Play Stores (17+/PEGI 18). It is cited by the Apple Store as containing infrequent or mild sexual content/nudity, and frequent reference to mature or suggestive themes. There are no parental controls as the app is designed for adults, and the app shares user's location details through geo-targeting software (although location settings and the "radar" can be disabled).
