Around a quarter of children interviewed in one research study asserted that they thought Viber could be risky. There are various reasons why this assessment may be correct - the app features age inappropriate ads, supports in-app purchases and allows for strangers to contact, and potentially scam, users. There are risks associated with this app, and it is important to ensure privacy settings are set in place to prevent strangers being able to get in contact.
