Pinterest allows users to create collections of pinboards using own images or ones from the platform.
Why is it a risk?
Pinterest has been flagged by the App Store as potentially containing mild/infrequent themes of sexual and mature content, including nudity. Net Aware reports that the app is low risk for themes of sex, violence, bullying, suicide and self harm. Privacy and location settings can be adjusted to protect the user and "Block" functions are available to prevent unwanted contact. However, it is a concern that users cannot filter or control the content that is presented to them and so it may be relatively easy for a child to stumble across inappropriate content where it does exist.
