Meetchu is a local dating app which supports text, video and voice calls to allow users to get to know each other online and test their chemistry. Video profile pictures are used in order to eliminate fake profiles, and the app contains a "Zap" feature. With this feature, users can delete sent text and media from the receiver's phone.
Why is it a risk?
Meetchu is an app intended for people aged 18 and over and is not an appropriate app for children to have on their devices, given that users are encouraged to meet in real life. Although content can be "zapped" and removed from the receiver's device, this should not be relied upon as a "safe" way to send risky content (as it is possible for the receiver to screenshot the content before it is removed).
